Dr. Sayed Hamid Mousavi, Head of Scientific Research Center – Kateb University
Dr. Sayed Hamid Mousavi was born in 1362. Mr. Mousavi completed his primary education at Al-Ghadir Primary School and his secondary education at Ghaffarzadaganan High School in Mashhad, Iran. Then he successfully completed his bachelor’s degree in laboratory sciences at Zabol Governmental University. He started his studies in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry in 1387 after getting admission to the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran, and in 1390 he was successfully graduated from this field. His master’s thesis on “Study of common and inverse mutations of inversion 22 in women carrying hemophilia A with inverse PCR and its complementary techniques” received an excellent status. Simultaneously, with defending the master’s thesis, due to the importance of molecular diagnosis in Afghanistan, they came to Kabul for the first time in 1390 at the invitation of Afghanistan’s most famous laboratory (City Laboratory) to conduct molecular diagnostic tests, and in the same year, he was recruited as the lecturer at Kateb University in the Faculty of Medicine. Due to his valuable scientific and research activities in 1392, he started his specialized doctoral course in Clinical Biochemistry at Tarbiat Modares University of Tehran, and in 1397, he was able to earn a doctorate with an excellent degree after his thesis entitles “Study of common and different mutations in the factor VIII gene in the patients with hemophilia A in Afghanistan” was successfully accepted. He has published more than 30 international articles in scientific conferences, and scientific and research journals. His areas of expertise in the molecular diagnosis of specific diseases such as hemophilia, thalassemia, hepatitis, etc., and he has learned various techniques of molecular diagnosis and has also offered different training courses for students. Techniques such as familiarity with various techniques of PCR, electrophoresis, gene sequencing, DNA and RNA extraction, etc. was held for students and faculty.
