The webinar on “The Diagnostic Methods of COVID-19” has been held on December 27, 2020 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. This webinar was held by Dr. Sayed Hamid Mousavi head of Kateb Research Center and Dr. Davod Javanmard assistant professor of virology at Birjand University of Medical Science with the participation of more than 100 participants. This webinar was held through Zoom Conference Software.
In this webinar, Dr. Sayed Hamid presented his presentation on topics such as COVID-19 situation in Afghanistan, Biosafety in the COVID-19 laboratory, types of antiseptic’s and their way of using, types of serological and molecular tests to detect COVID-19 types and types of COVID-19 Samplings.
Dr. Davod Javanmard talked about types of genome extraction methods (RNA or DNA), preparation of kits, polymerase chain reaction, PCR reaction mechanism, PCR reaction components, DNA sample (template), Taq Polymerase enzyme, nucleotides, buffer, magnesium ion, primers, equipment required for PCR reaction, pointes related to non-specific observation and various PVR methods in detail.
